International Labour Office(ILO): Skills Academy - current

new ilo

The ILO, an agency of the United Nations, has a strong focus on skills development in order to improve employment, productivity and economic development. Each year the ILO, at its International Training Centre in Turin, have a two week programme of lectures and courses for policy, advisory and technical staff in over 20 countries.

I designed and run the policy course on ‘coordination in skills development’, focusing on: the value of skills; a strategic and integrated approach to skills; jobs and economic development; the policy process, including governance and tools to enhance coordination; and building stakeholder involvement and partnerships. I have run this course each year from 2011 to 2015.
