The UK Commission, whose remit is to drive up employer investment in skills, manage the network of Sector Skills Councils and advise Government on employment and skills policy, has appointed me as a Visiting Reserch Fellow to advise on a range of projects. Initial work was on skills, poverty and inequality in the period to 2012, together with input to the value of their skills investment strategy and long term LMI needs in the following period. In 2013,the work focused on Management and leadership skills and the valuation of HR interventions using RoI and related methodologies. More recent work, in 2014 and 2015,focused on labour market intelligence; and understanding the 'demand' for skills. I also produced a 20 minute video for UKCES on building a framework for the local analysis and use of labour market intelligence.
